Make space between you and your thoughts

During class, our teachers often say, “watch your thoughts”.

When we grow our ability to watch our thoughts, we start to understand the ways in which our thoughts become our actions, our actions become our habits, and our habits become our lives.

We also become conscious of our own capacity to utilize the power of the mind in order to go beyond the mind and ultimately, to completely transform our lives from the inside, out.

To become more conscious of our thoughts - on and off the mat - we can ask yourselves these key questions;

  • What is the thought I carry with me the most?

  • Are these thoughts I carry really true?

  • How does it make me feel when I believe these thoughts?

  • Who would I be if I didn't believe these thoughts?

  • Am I controlling my thoughts or are my thoughts controlling me?
